Latinos Unidos Celebrates Latinx Heritage

Our Latinos Unidos (LU) student leadership club celebrated Mexican Independence Day with "El Grito de Dolores" (or cry for independence) on September 16.  Our student leaders, along with our two talented music teachers (who delighted us with a rendition of a traditional song), shared the historical background along with the cultural significance of celebrating independence across the Americas.  This assembly also kickstarted our National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, a time to honor and learn about the contributions of Latinx communities across our nation.
